‘The Recess’ tells the story of a 17-year-old school-girl who runs away from school to watch the football match of her beloved club.
Sahar, along with three of her friends, is planning to exit the school during the break in order to watch the match between Esteghlal FC and Al Ain FC at Azadi Sports Complex.
Mozhan Kordi, Reyhaneh Naieean, Niloufar Shokouhinia, and Ghazal Khalili are on the cast list of the flick.
Kordi won the award for the best performance for her role in ‘The Recess’ at the 33rd Living Skies Student Film Festival in Canada.
The film has already toured a number of global film events, including the Oxford Film Festival and the Garden State Film Festival, both in the US, as well as the Sofia MENAR Film Festival in Bulgaria.
The International Festival Signs of the Night (SIGNES DE NUIT) has been transformed into a multinational festival since 2015 and is performed in Portugal besides other countries.
The event screens films “which reflects new views, original imagery and critical approach to the crucial points of the modern human existence”, according to the website of the festival.
The 19th International Festival Signs of the Night took place online on December 26-31, 2021.
